Meet Dr. Robin
Hi! Thank you for stopping by my website. I’m so glad you’re here. This is the “Meet the Doctor” section, so let me introduce myself. When I was younger, I ran around telling everyone that I was going to be a doctor. I remember my mom telling me that I could do anything if I put my mind to it. As a high school and college athlete, I developed a passion for health and fitness. I began my undergrad work at Florida State University as a pre-med student.
After three years, I realized that traditional medicine wasn’t for me, so I switched over to the newly formed program in Exercise Science and received my bachelor’s degree from the Florida State University. (Yes, I’m a dire hard Seminole.) I also earned my master’s degree from FSU in Recreation Administration. My career path included Personal Training, Parks and Recreation, and a super fun stint with the Girl Scouts.
Through all my career changes, one thing remained constant – a passion for helping others. This is what ultimately led me to begin chiropractic school at Sherman College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. I loved being back in school and became active in several clubs, tutored in anatomy and x-ray, and served as the student body president for two years.
I received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2007, finally achieving my childhood dream of becoming a doctor. (Thanks, mom!) For the past ten years, I have been helping patients heal naturally and restore vitality back to their bodies.
From Athlete to Chiropractor
Athletics have always been a huge part of my life. I’m pretty sure I ran before I walked, and God bless my parents, I kept them running as they supported me in all my sporting endeavors. In high school, I played basketball, volleyball, softball, swimming, and track. I was blessed to receive an athletic scholarship to play softball at FSU. I went on to play women’s rugby for FSU and the inaugural USA Women’s National Team.
After college, I discovered competitive cycling and helped start a women’s amateur racing team in North Carolina. I raced on the road and track for ten years, with a highlight being the Master’s Nationals in Trexeltown, Pennsylvania. My new passion is CrossFit, and I’m currently a certified Level 1 CrossFit coach. I enjoy competing locally in the Masters Division.
Recently, I got certified in RockTape and have attended the CrossFit Games and CrossFit Regionals as a chiropractor who helps take care of the athletes. One of my life-long goals is to make it to the Olympics as a team chiropractor. I am currently working toward becoming a CCSP (Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician), which will help me reach that goal. So, needless to say, athletes of all ages and skill levels are welcome in my practice.
Outside of my Practice
When I’m not making house calls, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, especially my brother who has a successful massage therapy practice. He is my friend and mentor when it comes to being an entrepreneur. I love to travel and recently visited Costa Rica, Holland, Vienna, and Prague. When I turned 50, I decided to live and work in Germany for a year. Living in a foreign country, where I did not speak the language, instilled in me a deeper understanding of our human endeavor. It truly opened my eyes and heart.
Another passion I have is reading and writing. My mom owned a used bookstore for 30+ years, and I love to dive into a good book, sometimes several all at once. My goal is to write a book on health and wellness and make it available to you. I am happy to answer any questions you have about chiropractic and how I practice. House calls offer a unique way to take care of people, so please sign up for my free fifteen minute consultation phone call. Thanks for reading!
